Let me introduce myself and this blog a little…

My is name is Sophie, just a girl in her mid twenties, who alongside working full time, is the designated booker of essentially every trip I’ve ever been on in my adult life. The reason being, I love looking for new places to visit, finding hidden gems and exploring the essence of a place. I’ve also optimised my leave and salary to fit in multiple trips a year. Along the way, I’ve picked up some money and time saving tricks.

This blog is a collection of all the holidays I’ve been on in the last few years including long haul trips, city breaks, beach holidays, staycations and spa breaks to name a few. I’ve put together my guides and itineraries based on what I’d do again and can hopefully help you avoid the mistakes I did.

In terms of a comprehensive guide and itinerary, unless I’ve been there myself, I will leave that to the other amazing travel bloggers out there. My aim is to show you options of what you can book at a great price, not to convince you to visit somewhere.

I also love a bargain as I truly believe if something is expensive, it doesn’t automatically make it good or the best. So as well as finding the trip I would book, I will also scour the web for the best deal or best way to book it. As well as specific deals, I’ve got a few pages on ways to get free stuff when travelling. From flights, to free hotel nights and perks. There are a myriad of travel loyalty schemes that take a bit of unpicking, but worth it once you’re on board.

So what kind of trips do I look for?

  • Mostly for couples but sometimes for friends
  • Luxury and beautiful accommodation that doesn’t break the bank
  • Travelling somewhere at a savvy time – we love a shoulder season saving
  • Hotels and resorts that might not always be at the top of the search results but have something special to offer
  • Exploring a place and finding hidden gems
  • Places with really good food (this is essential!)
  • I do love an all inclusive BUT not a massive fan of tourist areas that feel like the UK with better weather. The option to leave the hotel and get a bit of culture is a must (doesn’t mean I always take it though!)
